FANTASY FEST 2000 and 2001
Fantasy Fest is always a welcome end to a long hot summer and a good time for all. Collected here are some images from the 2000 and 2001 Celebrations.
Those with animals are from the yearly Pet Masquerade event held on the lawn & beach of the Casa Marina. Pets of all kinds too... from Iguanas to Parrots to Pigs.... and of course the more normal cats and dogs..
Most of the rest are from the Street Fair and Parade held on the final day and night of Fantasy Fest on Duval Street from end to end.
Fantasy Fest started in the early 80's as an end of summer fun event blending the theatrics of Mardi Gras with Halloween and has grown year by year until for a number years now the crowd for the final weekend has reached an estimated 50,000.
Something I have decided to include this year are some examples of the diverse body painting seen on the final evening. If you are offended by the human body then please do not click for this page.
