After Hurricane Georges, this year's theme seemed most appropriate, but at least this time around it was all in fun.

The street fair, promenade, and culminating parade make for a very full weekend, of food, fun and the bizarre. It's not just the people that end up in costume either.

I know President Clinton went to the Glenn shuttle launch...
wonder where after that? There were plenty of cool cats around too.

One of the plain most fun events of the week, is The Pet Masquerade & Parade. Pets and owners of all kinds are to be found. From dogs & cats, to birds, pigs, and iguanas.

The King and Queen of Fantasy Fest were among the judges. Sometimes the pets had their own ideas, and costumes varied from the simple to the amazingly complex

As usual it was a week of fun and release for many (hurricane weary) locals and 60,000 visitors, without any serious incident.

Cayo Hueso was eventually mutated into Key West. It was so named because the first Europeans to arrive on these shores found the remnants of an Indian war, an Isle Of Bones.
